NLC Begins Indefinite Strike Over Alleged Killing Of Director By Commissioner In Delta

The Delta State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, has declared an indefinite strike in the state following the death of a deputy director in the ministry of secondary education, Mr Unity Adedah.

The State NLC chairman, Goodluck Oforbruku, declared the strike on Friday while addressing protesting civil servants at the Chike Edozien secretariat in Asaba.

Reports has it that workers at the State Secretariat in Asaba had earlier shut down the complex after the death of Adedah.

The deceased civil servant reportedly died after he was tied up and beaten mercilessly by thugs allegedly on the orders of the Commissioner for Secondary Education in Delta State, Dr Kingsley Ashibogwu.

The Delta State Government and law enforcement agencies must deploy every means within her powers to ensure the individuals involved in this ungodly and human risk activity are brought to book as well as to face the legal implications "
