Chukwueze Set For Spell Out After Hip Injury
AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is facing a period on the sidelines after picking up a hip problem, with the club awaiting further medical guidance on the severity of the issue.
The 27-year-old was absent from Wednesday’s training session as Milan prepared for their UEFA Europa League meeting with Premier League club Bournemouth.
Sport Mediaset reports that Chukwueze will undergo a specialist examination today to establish how long he may be unavailable. The Nigeria international has been feeling discomfort in his left hip, and Milan are concerned that the injury could rule him out for several weeks or potentially months.
The setback comes during an encouraging start to the campaign for Chukwueze under Ruben Amorim, following his return from a loan stint at Fulham. He has provided two assists in eight appearances in all competitions for the Rossoneri.
His possible absence would add to Milan’s attacking concerns, as the club is already without Alexis Saelemaekers, who recently underwent ankle surgery and is expected to be out for at least five months.
