I Am A Yoruba Boy Born And Bred In Lagos My Mother Is From Ondo State & My Father Is Lebanese-Nouah
Veteran Nollywood actor Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah, popularly known as Ramsey Nouah, has opened up about his family background, revealing that he has Lebanese roots through his father while his mother is from Ondo State, Nigeria.
The celebrated actor made the disclosure during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, a programme hosted by media personality Isbae U. The conversation touched on Nouah’s appearance and heritage, with the host jokingly questioning the actor about his racial identity and background.
Responding to the questions, Nouah explained that although his father is Lebanese, he considers himself a Yoruba man because of his upbringing and strong connection to Nigeria.
The actor stated that he was born and raised in Lagos, where he spent his formative years and was exposed to the culture and environment that shaped his identity.
Nouah also revealed that his mother hails from Ondo State, further highlighting his Nigerian roots. According to him, his upbringing in Lagos played a significant role in how he identifies culturally despite having a Lebanese father.
Speaking during the interview, the actor said: “I’m a Yoruba boy. I was born and bred in Lagos. My mother is from Ondo. My father is Lebanese. I was born and bred in Lagos.”
Nouah has enjoyed a long career in the Nigerian film industry and has remained a prominent figure in Nollywood through both acting and filmmaking.
