President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Zamfara State Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal, on his 61st birthday, describing him as a “Renaissance governor” who has brought positive change to the state.
Tinubu, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, celebrated Lawal as he marks his birthday.
The President commended the Zamfara governor’s efforts in infrastructure development and urban renewal, as well as his industrialisation drive across the state.
According to Tinubu, Lawal’s administration has gone beyond infrastructure provision to make significant investments in education and healthcare.

The President noted that the governor’s administration had rehabilitated more than 800 schools and recruited over 2,000 teachers as part of efforts to improve education in Zamfara State.
Tinubu also commended Lawal for upgrading hospitals and providing medical supplies across the state.
President Tinubu, who described himself as a strong proponent of well-rounded development, said Lawal’s multi-sectoral approach to governance was an appropriate strategy for achieving holistic development.
He particularly highlighted the importance of human capital development as a key component of sustainable progress.
The President described Lawal as a governor whose policies and programmes were contributing to positive changes in Zamfara State.
“As the governor celebrates this occasion, the President joins family, friends, and the good people of Zamfara to wish him good health and renewed strength as he continues to serve the state and the nation,” the statement said.
Earlier, Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Northwest Governors’ Forum, Dikko Umaru Radda, also congratulated Lawal on his 61st birthday, describing him as a dependable partner in efforts to secure and develop the Northwest region.
