The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency or ApexBrasil is set to open a permanent office in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa as the two countries seek to strengthen their economic cooperation.
The move aims to establish a platform for improving trade relations, promoting investment, exchanging market intelligence, and connecting businesses, per the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC).
The establishment of the permanent office was announced at a press briefing on Wednesday, following a meeting between EIC Commissioner Zeleke Temesgen and the president of ApexBrasil, Laudemir André Müller, to discuss opportunities to strengthen Ethiopia-Brazilian trade and investment cooperation.
According to Zeleke, the permanent office would serve as a a strategic bridge that will enable the two nations’ economic collaboration to be translated into concrete trade and investment prospects.
He said, the Ethiopian Investment Commission is prepared to strengthen cooperation with ApexBrasil in key areas including agribusiness and agro-processing, industrial manufacturing, green energy, logistics, and technology transfer.
“Our mission is to translate strategic cooperation into concrete, high-impact projects,” the Commissioner said, reaffirming his office’s readiness to provide end-to-end support to Brazilian companies investing in Ethiopia.
The press briefing was attended by senior government officials, representatives of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, the Brazilian Embassy, ApexBrasil, the private sector, and diplomatic missions.
