Jobs and opportunities: official vacancies open on 29 September 2026

Several government recruitment pages list South African vacancies with closing dates in early October. Applicants should use the employer’s live advert to confirm the exact job requirements and submission route before applying.

KwaZulu-Natal health posts

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health vacancy page lists a diagnostic radiographer post at uThukela District Office closing on 2 October. Its hospital listings include a medical officer post at Grey’s Hospital closing on 5 October and a Port Shepstone Regional Hospital specialist sessional post closing on 9 October. These are separate adverts with different qualifications; the department’s vacancy page links to the full circulars.

Tshwane job forums

The City of Tshwane’s Job Forums page lists Roads and Transport Forum 50-2026, open until 5 October, and Shared Services Forum 51-2026, open until 8 October. Forum 52-2026 carries different closing dates for its two groups, so applicants should check the relevant advert rather than use a single deadline for the whole forum.

Higher education vacancies

The Department of Higher Education and Training’s careers page lists a director-general vacancy closing on 5 October. It also lists a deputy director-general corporate services advert closing on 30 September. Both are senior posts; their detailed requirements and application instructions are on the department’s own site.
