Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has held discussions with Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed Mubarak on issues surrounding football, sports development and national service.Okraku said his meeting with the Minister focused on the Security Services Sports Association (SESSA) Games, job opportunities for sportsmen and women, and the renovation of the historic El-Wak Stadium in Accra.The GFA president said the SESSA Games could provide an important pathway for sportsmen and women whose professional football careers may not have progressed as expected, while also creating employment opportunities within the security services.He also discussed the contribution of service personnel to football, including their roles in security, refereeing, coaching and other areas of the sport.The invaluable role service personnel continue to play in football, from security and refereeing to coaching and other areas of the game, Okraku wrote on Facebook.The proposed renovation of El-Wak Stadium was another key issue discussed during the meeting, with the historic Accra venue in need of redevelopment to improve its facilities.Okraku expressed appreciation to the former Sports Minister for the meeting and said he was hopeful that the ideas discussed would translate into concrete action.I sincerely thank my brother, Hon.
