LG expands affordable home appliance range in Ghana

LG Electronics has expanded its home appliance portfolio in Ghana with a range of refrigerators, washing machines and cooking appliances targeted at consumers seeking affordable products with modern features.

The new range includes French-door, bottom-freezer and top-freezer refrigerators, chest freezers, a Twin Tub washing machine and the NeoChef microwave oven.

Speaking at the launch in Accra on Saturday, September 26, 2026, Mr Hari Elluru, LG Representative at Giant Tek Limited, said the company’s affordable range was not intended to mean inferior quality.

He said LG had developed products across different market segments to meet the needs and purchasing power of different categories of consumers while maintaining its emphasis on quality.

The French-door refrigerators, including the GCFB41FPLAM and GCFB50FPLAM models, feature four-door configurations with separate refrigerator and freezer compartments.

According to LG, the models come with vegetable boxes designed to help preserve fruits and vegetables, while an inverter compressor regulates compressor operation to improve energy efficiency.

The refrigerators also feature a Fresh Converter, which allows users to adjust temperature settings according to the type of food being stored.

The GCFB195PQCF top-freezer refrigerator, meanwhile, provides a larger freezer compartment and uses a direct-cooling system. It also comes with LED lighting and a reciprocating compressor.

LG’s bottom-freezer refrigerator, the GCFB276PQCF, places the refrigerator compartment above the freezer, allowing users easier access to frequently used fresh food items.

The model also features a vegetable box, LED lighting, pocket handles and a reciprocating compressor.

Chest freezers

The company has also introduced chest freezers aimed at both household and commercial users, including retailers, restaurants and other businesses requiring larger frozen-food storage.

LG said the chest-freezer range comes in different capacities and features pre-coated steel interiors.

The company said the design is intended to make it easier to remove frozen items from the freezer walls.

The chest freezers use a direct-cooling system and an internal condenser, with LG saying the configuration supports heat dissipation and can help optimise available space.

The company also highlighted fast-cooling capability as one of the key features of the range.

Twin Tub washing machine

The new LG Twin Tub washing machine, the P800R3AGNC, is designed with two compartments, one for washing and the other for spinning.

The machine is manually operated and is positioned by the company as an affordable option for households seeking a simple laundry solution.

LG said the design is intended to make routine washing easier while offering consumers a practical alternative for household laundry needs.

The company has also introduced the NeoChef Microwave Oven, model MH8265CIS, which is designed to provide convenient cooking and food-heating functions.

Mr Lerry Wang, Regional General Manager of Giant Tek Limited, said the expanded product range formed part of LG’s efforts to respond to changing consumer needs in Ghana.

He said the company would continue to introduce appliances designed around convenience, efficiency and reliability as consumer demand for modern household technologies increased.

The new products are available through authorised LG distributors and retail partners in Ghana.
