Tinubu On Right Track, Jide Kosoko Tells Nigerians
AI summary
Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has defended President Bola Tinubu’s administration, insisting that the government is working to address Nigeria’s challenges.
Kosoko made the remarks during an appearance on the Talk To B podcast hosted by actress Biola Adebayo, where he urged Nigerians to consider the state of the country before Tinubu assumed office.
“Things are not as bad as some people have claimed and they need to understand. Go and check the majority of those people. Before Tinubu came, what were they eating?” he said.
When asked what evidence ordinary Nigerians could point to in support of the claim that the President was fixing the country, the actor maintained that the administration was addressing problems inherited from previous governments.
Kosoko also cited the student loan scheme as one of the initiatives introduced by the government, urging beneficiaries to speak about its impact on their lives.
He added that the government had promised to support graduates who were unable to secure employment immediately after completing their studies.
According to the actor, such initiatives deserved greater public attention.
Kosoko, who said he had been involved in politics since 1978, argued that political ambition sometimes prevented Nigerians from acknowledging what he described as progress under the current administration.
He alleged that some opposition figures recognised the government’s efforts but allowed their political interests to influence their positions.
“Those in the opposition know the truth. They know that the man is on the right track, but ambition is affecting their thinking,” Kosoko said.
