JUST IN: Shadrack Sibiya resigns from Saps
Sibiya was initially placed on special leave in July 2025 before being suspended in September of the same year.

Shadrack Sibiya has resigned from the South African Police Service (Saps) following disciplinary proceedings against the now former deputy national commissioner for crime detection.
His disciplinary proceedings were scheduled to continue on Monday, 12 October 2026, as Saps pursued its internal process amid a separate legal challenge.
Sibiya has faced scrutiny over allegations raised during investigations into alleged criminality, corruption and interference within South Africa’s criminal justice system.
He was initially placed on special leave in July 2025 before being suspended in September of the same year.
Sibiya also faces charges of sexual grooming, human trafficking and rape involving a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman.
This is a developing story.
