A memorial service for 27 people who lost their lives in a road accident has been held here at Chivhu General Hospital today.
The service was attended by Local Government and Public Works Minister Daniel Garwe, Transport and Infrastructure Development Minister Felix Mhona and Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera.
Before attending the service Ministers Garwe, Mhona, Mavetera, traditional leaders and other Government officials visited the accident scene where traditional leaders performed some rituals.
Members of the Apostolic Faith Church (Mwazha) also attended the memorial service.
Consoling bereaved families Minister Garwe, who was the chief mourner said they are not alone as President Mnangagwa is with them and Government is doing everything to assist them in giving their loved ones a decent burial.
“May you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone in this tragedy. President Mnangagwa has sent me to tell you that you are not alone. He is with you in everything that is happening.
“It is painful that we are here mourning our departed relatives and friends who died in an accident.
“May the Lord comfort you in this difficult time.”
