The 31-year-old midfield anchor has done well for himself since leaving Kaizer Chiefs for Austria in July 2025.
Former Kaizer Chiefs skipper Yusuf Maart has signed an improved contract with Austrian outfit SV Ried.
Maart’s previous contract was set to expire in June 2027 as he had joined SV Ried on a two-year deal in July 2025.
He left Amakhosi on the back of winning the Nedbank Cup; the club’s first major trophy in a decade.
The 31-year-old fitted like a hand in a glove at SV Ried as he cemented his place in the starting line-up as soon as he joined them.
Maart has featured in 44 matches across all competitions since his arrival at SV Ried, and provided two assists.
The news of Maart’s improved contract was shared by his agency P Management on social media on Friday.
However, it is unclear at this stage as to how long he will remain at the Austrian outfit as details around his new deal was not disclosed.
The move to hand Maart this improved deal is seen as an attempt to thwart interest from FC Dinamo Bururesti.
The Romanian giants were recently reported to be keen on securing the services of the former Bafana Bafana international in this transfer window.
