Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways in the Ghana Premier League with a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Port City at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday.
Frank Duku scored the decisive goal with a well-timed header to hand the Phobians all three points and end their two-game winless run.
The breakthrough came after Nsobila delivered a perfectly weighted pass into the box, allowing Duku to direct his header into the back of the net.
Hearts may not have dominated possession, but they looked more dangerous whenever they moved forward, creating problems for the Port City defence with their attacking deliveries.
Duku came close to adding to his tally when another teasing cross from Ransford Mensah found him in the box, but the Port City goalkeeper Daniel Amissah reacted quickly to claim the ball.
Port City also had their moments but could not find a way past the Hearts defence as the Phobians held on to secure a valuable victory.
The result lifts Hearts of Oak to second place in the league standings, just three points behind leaders Medeama, as they continue their push towards the top of the table.
For Port City, the defeat marks their second loss of the season and sees them drop to fourth position after an encouraging start to life in the top flight.
Hearts will now make the short trip to Tema to face Vision FC in their next fixture, while Port City return home to take on Dreams FC.
