UDS storm into African University Games final with 4-0 win over Delta University

The University for Development Studies (UDS) have reached the final of the 12th All Africa University Games after defeating Egypts Delta University 4-0 in Cairo.The defending champions delivered a strong performance despite playing in temperatures of 37 degrees Celsius to secure a place in the final for the second consecutive time.Abdul Majeed Nuhu opened the scoring for UDS just before half-time with a powerful header after a fine combination between George Renchi and Ezedeen Alhassan.Captain Mohammed Asigri doubled the advantage two minutes after the restart with a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area.Alhassan Zakaria then made it 3-0 in the 68th minute after beating two defenders before calmly finishing past the Delta goalkeeper.Abdul Majeed Suglo completed the scoring in the 85th minute, guiding the ball into the net to seal a convincing victory.The result means UDS have scored nine goals and conceded just two in the competition.UDS have now reached the final for the second consecutive time, making them the first university to qualify for two straight finals at the continental level.The achievement adds to UDS growing reputation on the international stage after they won the 2025 FISU World University Football Championship, becoming the first African university to win the global university football title.UDS will face either the University of Hertfordshire or the Federation of Guinea Universities football team in the final as they seek to retain their African University Games title.
