South Africa's Casandra Alexander completed a wire-to-wire, three-shot victory at the Women's Irish Open for her second LET title.
South African golfer Casandra Alexander has won the 2026 KPMG Women’s Irish Open, completing a wire-to-wire victory at The K Club in County Kildare.
Alexander finished the tournament on 20 under par after rounds of 63, 66, 69 and 70 on the Palmer South course. Her closing two-under-par round gave her a three-shot victory.
The 27-year-old began the final round with a three-stroke lead but dropped shots at each of the opening two holes. She steadied her round and kept the chasing group behind her to claim her second title on the Ladies European Tour.
Alexander’s first LET victory came at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open in 2025. The Irish Open win followed five runner-up finishes during the 2026 season.
The Ladies European Tour said the result extended her lead at the top of its season-long Order of Merit. She moved to 2,399.98 points after the victory.
Alexander had taken control of the tournament with a course-record nine-under-par 63 in Thursday’s opening round. She followed that with a 66 and a 69, reaching 18 under before Sunday’s final round.
Ireland’s Leona Maguire finished five shots behind Alexander in a share of fourth place, while the South African completed the event three strokes clear of her nearest challenger.
The Women’s Irish Open was played from 27 to 30 August and carried a €450,000 prize fund on the Ladies European Tour schedule.
