Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled a list of 28 governorship and deputy governorship candidates across the country.
Notable among the candidates are former Kaduna State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Isa Ashiru, and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
The party also unveiled former Delta State governorship candidate, Great Ogboru, and Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita in Katsina.
There is also the Labour Party governorship candidate for Lagos State in the last election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

The Governorship candidates were announced in a statement on Friday, by Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, National Publicity Secretary of the party.
He said, “These men and women will carry the ADC banner and our commitment to offer Nigerians credible leadership and a real alternative.”
The statement which was posted on X by the spokesman of the party, Mallam Abdullahi also had Modibbo Hammantukur Ribadu for Adamawa and Senator Halliru Dauda Jika for Bauchi.
The governorship campaigns scheduled to begin on September 9, 2026.
