Freezy Macbones presents WBO Africa title to Otumfuo after Nigerian victory

Ghanaian boxer Seth Gyimah, popularly known as Freezy Macbones, has presented his WBO Africa Light Heavyweight Championship belt to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in appreciation of the traditional ruler’s blessings ahead of his title-winning fight.
Freezy made the presentation during the seventh Akwasidae celebration at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, where he also dedicated the continental title to Otumfuo and the people of Asanteman.
The boxer secured the championship on October 1, 2026, in Lagos, Nigeria, defeating Nigerian opponent Godday “Zodsolo” Appah by majority decision after 10 rounds of action.
According to Freezy, he had visited the Asantehene before the bout to seek his blessings, during which Otumfuo laid his hands on his boxing gloves. Following his victory, the boxer said he felt compelled to return to the palace to express his gratitude.
His appearance at the Akwasidae celebration was therefore not only an opportunity to present the belt but also to seek further blessings as he prepares for the next phase of his boxing career.
The gesture placed Freezy’s continental achievement within the cultural and spiritual significance of his relationship with the Asantehene, whom he credited for offering him encouragement ahead of the decisive contest.
With the WBO Africa title now secured, the boxer will be looking to build on the victory as he pursues the next milestones in his professional career.
