Aravinda De Silva And Wife Face Arrest Warrants Over Court Absence

Colombo Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena today (16) issued warrants for the arrest of former Sri Lankan cricketing great Aravinda de Silva and his wife, Priyanga Anushka Wijeynayake.

The warrants were issued after the couple, who had stood as sureties in a case involving the wife of former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena, failed to appear before the court.

Notably, the warrants were issued on the same day that the final rites and cremation of Aravinda de Silva’s mother, Rani de Silva, who passed away on September 14, were taking place.
