Shatta Wale Urges Peace with Slim Buster

Ghanaian dancehall icon Shatta Wale has called for calm and mutual respect in his ongoing interactions with veteran artist Slim Buster, urging fans and the wider public not to allow social media to deepen any perceived divides.

The message of peace comes after the release of his new collaboration “Sweet” with rising star Kweku Flick and follows the successful staging of ShattaFest 2026.

In recent posts and statements circulating widely on X and other platforms, Shatta Wale expressed surprise at the tone of certain exchanges and framed his comments as brotherly advice directed toward a senior figure in the Ghanaian music industry.

He emphasized the importance of unity and cautioned against letting online commentary escalate into unnecessary conflict.

The timing of the peace appeal is notable. On October 21, 2026, Kweku Flick officially released “Sweet,” a vibrant single featuring Shatta Wale. The track, available on major streaming platforms, has been praised for its catchy melody and danceable rhythm, blending elements of Afrobeats and dancehall.

Cover art for the song features a striking red candy-style “SWEET” design swarming with ants, which has drawn significant attention online. Early listener feedback highlights the complementary strengths of the two artists: Kweku Flick’s melodic delivery paired with Shatta Wale’s distinctive energy and vocal presence.

Kweku Flick, whose real name is Andy Osei Sarfo, first rose to prominence with his 2020 hit “Money.” Born in 2001 in the Ashanti Region, the young artist has steadily built a reputation through consistent releases and strategic collaborations with names such as Sarkodie, Strongman, and others.

He previously appeared on Shatta Wale’s 2020 track “Ahodwo Las Vegas” and has publicly credited the dancehall star with offering valuable guidance on the business side of music.

Their latest joint effort marks a continuation of that professional relationship and arrives at a moment when both artists are maintaining strong visibility.

Just four days before the single’s release, Shatta Wale hosted ShattaFest 2026 on October 17 at the Accra Sports Stadium. The event, styled as an all-white celebration of his birthday, drew thousands of fans and reinforced his status as one of Ghana’s most influential live performers. Reports from the festival noted high energy, strong attendance, and continued support from the Shatta Movement.

In the lead-up to and following the show, Shatta Wale has also been actively promoting Ghanaian fashion designers by wearing their creations at public appearances, a move that has earned praise from supporters who see it as meaningful endorsement of local creative talent.

The combination of a major festival, a new high-profile single, and a public call for industry peace has kept Shatta Wale at the center of conversation this week. While Ghanaian music has long been characterized by competitive rivalries that often play out both on stage and online, moments of public reconciliation or de-escalation tend to resonate strongly with audiences.

Many fans have welcomed the tone of Shatta Wale’s recent comments, viewing them as a mature response that prioritizes the broader health of the music scene over prolonged online disputes.

Social media reactions have been mixed but largely engaged. Some users shared clips of Shatta Wale’s message alongside promotional material for “Sweet,” while others used the moment to discuss the role of social media in amplifying artist disagreements.

A smaller number of posts revisited older controversies, including past performances and rivalries, yet the dominant theme in the trending conversation remains the peace call itself and the fresh music release.
