African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has condemned the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for appointing retired Major General John Enenche as Director of Security and Intelligence in its 2027 campaign council.
Sowore’s criticism stems from Enenche’s controversial role during the October 2020 EndSARS protests, when he dismissed videos of the Lekki Toll Gate shooting as “photoshopped.”
Reacting on X, Sowore accused NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of hypocrisy, alleging that Obi oversaw the killing of IPOB activists during his tenure as Anambra governor.
He claimed their bodies were dumped in the Ezu River. He further described Enenche’s appointment as “a direct attack on the hypocrites who betrayed EndSARS for a lot of porridge,” branding the retired general as the “new hero” of those who abandoned the movement.
The development has reignited public debate over the Lekki shooting and raised questions about the credibility of figures chosen to lead opposition campaigns.
