MOROTO: The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kapchorwa, Mr. Stanley Bayole, has commended the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) for maintaining peace, stability, and high standards of discipline across the region.
Speaking during the official handover ceremony at the 3rd Infantry Division Headquarters in Moroto, Mr. Bayole praised the outgoing Division Commander, Major General Sserunkuma, for his exemplary leadership, effective coordination with sister security agencies, and support in ensuring peaceful electoral processes across the region.
The RDC highlighted Maj Gen Sserunkuma’s decisive measures against cattle theft, noting that structured security interventions have driven a sharp decline in rustling incidents.
As Maj Gen Sserunkuma transitions to his new assignment in Gulu, Mr. Bayole extended his best wishes and urged Gulu residents and local leadership to give him a warm reception.
Welcoming the incoming commander, Brigadier General Joseph Iroba, Mr. Bayole urged him to sustain the spirit of teamwork and close collaboration between security organs and local authorities.
Furthermore, the RDC expressed gratitude to the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) for continuing to professionalize the armed forces. He commended UPDF personnel for demonstrating exceptional discipline, which has significantly reduced instances of professional misconduct within the ranks.
