27-Month-Old Andrew Needs N4.2m for Life-Saving Spine Surgery, Family Appeals for Help

A public appeal has been made for financial assistance to save the life of Andrew, a 27-month-old child battling severe neuromuscular scoliosis, a condition that has caused a significant curvature of his spine and is reportedly affecting his breathing and putting pressure on vital organs.

Andrew’s family is seeking to raise N4.2 million to cover the cost of surgery scheduled for November 16, 2026, at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi, Abuja.

According to the appeal circulated by his family, Andrew was born prematurely at six months of pregnancy and subsequently developed brain damage and microcephaly, a condition associated with an abnormally small head size.

The toddler has reportedly spent 20 months in the hospital and continues to face serious health challenges. His condition includes severe spinal curvature, persistent pain and difficulty breathing.

The family says the spinal deformity has become a major concern because of the pressure it places on Andrew’s internal organs, particularly his lungs.
