“She has been beating me ever since I was a kid” – Nana Akua Addo’s daughter in custody pickup video
A dramatic turn has emerged in the domestic abuse case involving Ghanaian fashion personality Nana Akua Addo and her husband, Harold Duodu Norman, after one of their daughters, Jesusa, reportedly refused to leave with her mother despite a court ruling granting the fashion icon custody of their two children. In a video circulating on social media, Jesusa is seen visibly upset and confronting her mother, raising serious questions about the strained relationship between them as the couple’s marital dispute continues to unfold publicly.
The tense encounter, which occurred during a custody pickup following a court session in which Harold Duodu Norman was remanded for two weeks, shows Jesusa challenging her mother’s authority. When Nana Akua Addo was heard asking someone in the compound, “Have you seen what the guy has done?” Jesusa immediately demanded an explanation, asking, “What did he do, I’m speaking to you, what did you do?” The confrontation escalated when an unidentified man asked whether Jesusa intended to beat her mother, prompting the young girl to make a startling allegation.
“She has been beating me ever since I was a kid. So don’t I have the right?” Jesusa is heard saying in the video. The man attempted to calm the situation, explaining that two wrongs cannot make a right and that a mother’s correction does not mean she hates her child. Nana Akua Addo appeared to agree with the man’s explanation before turning her attention to what she believes is the role of her husband’s family in the dispute, alleging that her daughter’s paternal relatives are influencing her badly and “weaponising” her.
According to the fashion personality, the conflict between her and her husband should not involve their children. “I told you whatever is happening between me and your daddy has nothing to do with you,” she said. Jesusa, however, continued to challenge her mother, alleging that the fashion icon is afraid because she knows her daughter will tell the truth about what is happening in the household. The exchange has sparked widespread discussion online, with many Ghanaians expressing concern about the welfare of the children caught in the middle of the bitter dispute.
The incident comes days after Harold Duodu Norman was remanded into custody for two weeks following a court session on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, during which the court granted Nana Akua Addo custody of the couple’s two daughters as arrangements are made to protect their welfare. The fashion personality, whose legal name is Rosemond Akua Adobea, had earlier petitioned the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over alleged physical, emotional and economic abuse by her husband. The allegations remain under investigation and have not been conclusively established in court, but the public confrontation has added a troubling new dimension to an already complex family matter.
