Chef Gigi bags another award at 2026 AWIBA Conference and Awards

Chef Georgina Abbam-Baidoo Amfo, popularly known as Chef Gigi of Gigi’s Kitchen, has added another accolade to her growing list of achievements after receiving the Culinary Excellence Award at the 2026 Aiding Women in Business Africa (AWIBA) Conference and Awards in Accra.

The event, held at the Accra City Hotel on Saturday, October 17, 2026, brought together women entrepreneurs, business leaders and industry players to celebrate excellence, innovation and the achievements of women in business.

Chef Gigi, who attended the event as a panellist, was pleasantly surprised when she was also called upon to receive the prestigious award in recognition of her excellence in food entrepreneurship, culinary innovation and outstanding contribution to the food industry.

The award, presented by the Aiding Women in Business Africa Network, further highlights her dedication to promoting culinary excellence and building a strong brand in Ghana’s food industry.

The recognition adds to Chef Gigi’s achievements, including her success as a winner of the Onga Jollof competition, further cementing her reputation as a celebrated figure in Ghana’s culinary space.

The 2026 AWIBA Conference and Awards was held under the theme “Building Legacies and Inspiring Generations” and dubbed “Women Rising in Business,” highlighting the importance of empowering women entrepreneurs and inspiring the next generation of business leaders.
