Abdeslam Ouaddou Has a Message for His Doubters

Ouaddou Sends Strong Message to Critics After Orlando Pirates’ Soweto Derby Victory

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has urged his critics to allow him the space to do his job after guiding the Buccaneers to a memorable 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in Saturday afternoon’s Soweto Derby.

The French-Moroccan tactician delivered his message following a significant result at FNB Stadium, where Pirates secured the bragging rights in one of South African football’s most eagerly anticipated fixtures.

Ouaddou’s comments reflected his awareness of the scrutiny that comes with managing a club of Pirates’ stature. Expectations are particularly high at the Soweto giants, where supporters demand consistent performances and positive results.

“Sometimes people are judging but please let me do my work,” Ouaddou said.

The coach’s remarks come after a derby encounter in which Pirates managed to overcome their bitter rivals and secure three important points in the Betway Premiership.

Victory over Chiefs carries significance beyond the league standings, given the history and intensity of the rivalry between the two clubs. For Pirates, the result provided an opportunity to celebrate a major achievement while strengthening their position in the early stages of the campaign.

Ouaddou will hope the victory helps build further confidence within his squad as he continues implementing his ideas and working towards his objectives at the club.

However, the demands surrounding Pirates mean that performances will continue to attract attention, regardless of the result. The coach will know that maintaining consistency is essential if he is to win over supporters and silence those questioning his methods.
