The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Hafiz Dauda, has expressed confidence that the newly elected constituency executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will strengthen the party’s chances of retaining the parliamentary seat in the 2028 general elections.
He said the composition of the new leadership, which includes both incumbent executives and newly elected members, offered a good balance of experience and fresh ideas needed to advance the party’s electoral prospects.
Mr Dauda made the remarks in an interview with Adom News at Kenyasi during the party’s constituency elections.
He explained that the 1,008 delegates who participated in the election had selected a team he believed could develop effective strategies to consolidate the NDC’s support and secure victory in 2028.
According to the DCE, the combination of experienced party officials and new entrants would help inject fresh energy into the constituency’s political activities while maintaining continuity in leadership.
He urged the newly elected executives to work together, strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and remain focused on the goal of retaining the parliamentary seat.
Mr Dauda also commended party members, the security services, the District Security Council (DISEC) and the Electoral Commission for their roles in ensuring a peaceful constituency election.
He described the violence-free exercise as a positive achievement and urged stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation as the party prepares for future electoral contests.
