Here’s all the top games from Steam Next Fest October 2026

After months of themed Fest events, the one that started it all, the Next Fest, is back for another edition on Steam.

For those unfamiliar, the Steam Next Fest is not just a sale, but an event intended to introduce shoppers to their next favourite game. It does this by highlighting smaller indie titles, and encouraging the release of demos for the wider public to try.

Steam Next Fest October 2026 is running until 26th October 2026, and you can see everything from the home page here.

Of note to us, is the “charts” section which shows off what Steam users are actually paying attention to, and which of those aforementioned demos are being played.

We’ve made it simple for you by combining the three charts into a single table, which you can see below. Simply click or tap on the title of the game to be taken to its dedicated store page.

What surprised us here is that Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered wasn’t more popular across all three charts. It only appears in the “Trending Upcoming” section, but its recent demo (which is still available) didn’t even make it into the Top Demos.

There’s some games here that have been making waves on social media and streaming, notably Find the Needle and Fart Together. Regardless of the quality of these titles, they fall firmly into the incremental game and friendslop genres respectively, both of which are particularly suited for popularity on sites like YouTube and Twitch.

As for what interests us from these lists, Warhammer Survivors is at the top, and not just because it’s pictured above. We love Warhammer 40,000 but we’re a bit shocked about how blatantly this game copies the modern classic Vampire Survivors. We’d love to see if it actually has more to offer than just being a clone, and it has a free demo for anyone to check out before its 10th November release.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that, some time after the conclusion of this Next Fest, Valve will release details about what games were most popular with players during the event’s length, especially, which of the demos was played the most. It will be interesting to see what games managed to stay popular until the end of the event, compared to what’s popular now, right at the start.
