President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the late Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Fikile Eunice Mokgohloa will receive a Special Official Funeral Category 2 following her death at 65.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that the late Supreme Court of Appeal Justice Fikile Eunice Mokgohloa will be honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category 2 on Saturday.
Justice Mokgohloa died on August 20 at the age of 65 after a long illness.
She served the nation and the judiciary with distinction, integrity and dedication for 20 years.
Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said Ramaphosa had paid tribute to Mokgohloa for her contribution to the judiciary and jurisprudence.
“Judge Mokgohloa has left us at the pinnacle of her commitment to the rule of law and the administration of our courts,” Ramaphosa said.
“Her legacy is entrenched in the many landmark judgments she delivered and in her exceptional judicial leadership.
“May her soul rest in peace.”
Mokgohloa had served as a judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal since June 2019, after previously serving as Deputy Judge President of the Limpopo Division of the High Court.
She also served as Acting Deputy President of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
Ramaphosa extended his condolences to Mokgohloa’s family, friends and colleagues.
Funeral arrangements
Mokgohloa will be buried in Pretoria, with the funeral service scheduled for 7.30 am on Saturday at Hillsong Church in Wonderboom, Pretoria.
The Special Official Funeral Category 2 will feature ceremonial elements provided by the South African Police Service.
Ramaphosa has also directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at all flag stations until Saturday evening.
