I am not headed anywhere – Jacobs

Local football coach Woody Jacobs has dismissed speculation that he could be returning to the Botswana Premier League, following his appearance at the league encounter between Police XI and Orapa United over the weekend.

Jacobs was spotted at the match on Saturday, where Police XI played to a goalless 0–0 draw against Orapa United in a Botswana Premier League fixture.

His presence at the game sparked speculation that he could be preparing for a return to Botswana, where he previously coached Matebele and TAFIC FC. However, Jacobs has moved quickly to dismiss the rumours, saying he is not heading anywhere and has already returned to Namibia.

“I am not headed anywhere. I am already back in the country,” Jacobs said, putting to rest speculation about a possible move to either club.

Jacobs is currently employed by the Namibia Football Association (NFA) as a Talent Development Scheme and Education Officer, a role focused on identifying and developing young football talent.

His responsibilities include talent identification, scouting and youth-player development, with the aim of strengthening pathways for promising footballers to progress through Namibia’s football structures.

Jacobs’ experience in Botswana has nevertheless kept him connected to the country’s football scene, having previously coached both Matebele and TAFIC FC. His appearance at the Police XI and Orapa United fixture therefore generated interest, but he insists there is no move to Botswana on the cards.
