Former Ghana U20 forward Zuberu Sharani produces MOTM performance on Togo debut

Zuberu Sharani enjoyed a winning start to his international career with Togo, playing a starring role as the Sparrowhawks defeated Burundi in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.Born in Ghana, Sharani decided to represent the country of his father few months ago, completing his international switch before the September window.He earned an immediate invite for the matches against Burundi and Zambia in the AFCON qualifiers.Sharani delivered on his first outing, serving the assist for the winner at the Stade de Kague.The former Dreams FC and Ghana U20 star brilliantly controlled a pass into the path of Karim Dermane, who fired home the winner in the 18th minute.The 26-year-old Hapoel Jerusalem forward is hoping to lead Togo back to the Africa Cup of Nations, having missed the tournament since the 2017 edition.Fans of the Togo national team took to social media to share their delight with the performance of the former Ghana youth star.Young Abel posted: "Where has he been since Laa....he is good....H. koudossou is also to be congratulated....his passes noon are good"Ismail Sanou added: "The choice was perfect and we feel that with a little more attention, Togo will regain its 2006 form.
