Manchester United academy star Jaice Dore is set to play for England in the Val-de-Marne tournament.
Fifteen-year-old Jaice Dore is going from strength to strength at Manchester United. The talented winger will likely attract more attention now that JJ Gabriel is set to leave the club.
Although losing a talent like Gabriel is undoubtedly a huge blow for United, prospects like Dore are proof that the academy is in a good place. There’s also a pathway into the first team for the most talented and dedicated, with Shea Lacey being the latest example, having made three senior appearances so far this season.
With Lacey expected to get more opportunities in the first team, there will be plenty of youngsters in the academy looking to follow in his footsteps. One of them is Dore after his recent call-up to the England U16 squad.
Jaice Dore will represent England at the Val-de-Marne tournament
Aged 15, Dore has been tipped for a bright future. The winger is tricky and breezes past defenders for fun, which means he looks like a player who will get fans off their seats.
Dore, who has already made two appearances for England’s U16s, has been called up to the squad for the upcoming Val-de-Marne tournament in France. He recorded one assist in those matches.
Young Lions head coach Neil Ryan named a 23-man squad for the trip. The fact Dore was included means he is going to the Val-de-Marne tournament, joining a squad that will face Italy, Japan and France. It’s a massive boost for Dore because it gives him a chance to gain more experience on the international stage as a youth player.

After being called up to the England U16 squad again, Dore clearly left a good impression the last time. Good enough to warrant another call-up, which should aid his development before he turns 16 and can sign a scholarship.
Dore was the only United player named in the squad. The tournament begins for England with a tie against Italy on Tuesday 27 October.
