Chapa Dimba heads to Eastern region for county finals this weekend

• The finals will take place across eight counties including Isiolo, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni and Marsabit, with more than 60 teams competing for county titles and a chance to progress to the inter-county playoffs.

Plateau Queens in action against Barcelona Ladies SC during the fourth edition of the Safaricom Chapa Dimba finals at Mamboleo Stadium in Kisumu.Safaricom Chapa Dimba heads to the Eastern Region this weekend for the county finals, with matches scheduled for Saturday, 19th, and Sunday, 20th September 2026.The finals will take place across eight counties including Isiolo, Meru, Embu, Tharaka Nithi, Machakos, Kitui, Makueni and Marsabit, with more than 60 teams competing for county titles and a chance to progress to the inter-county playoffs.Winners in both the boys’ and girls’ categories from each county will each receive Ksh. 75,000 and advance to the inter-county playoffs, where they will compete for a place in the regional finals. County runners-up will receive Ksh. 30,000, alongside other individual awards.“After a successful regional tournament in Nyanza, we are excited to take Chapa Dimba to the Eastern Region for the county finals. More than 60 teams from across the eight counties will battle it out for county honours. Everything is in place, and we look forward to witnessing great talent and exciting matches over the weekend,” said Oliver Kiptoo, FKF National Coordinator.In Isiolo, MAFA Academy will face Towfiq FC in the boys’ category at Kiwanjani Grounds, before Garbatulla Queens take on Bridge Starlets in the girls’ category at the same venue.In Kitui, 16 teams will battle for the county titles. In the girls’ category, Kitui FC Ladies will face Kavalyani Starlets, United Starlets will take on ISAA Queens, Mwitaka Starlets will meet Nguni Sirens, while Young Starlets will face defending champions Syomunyu Queens at St. Charles Lwanga School. In the boys’ category, RMJS will meet SMPI Academy, hosts St. Charles Lwanga will take on Musengo Senior School, Kiongwe Juniors will face Mwingi Juniors, while Wendea FC will battle Nyanyaa Bullets.In Machakos, Matuu Homeboys will face Masii Boys Senior School, while Golden Football Academy will take on Koma United in the boys’ category. In the girls’ category, Kyumbi All-Stars Queens will meet Kibauni Ladies, while MCF will face Kisooni Queens. Matches will be played at Machakos Showground and Public Works Field.In Meru, City Vultures Academy will play Mikinduri Stars FC, while Igane Juniors will take on CCM Giantune Boys in the boys’ category. In the girls’ category, Akuune Queens will face Mwariama Queens, while CCM Giantune will meet Timberyard Queens.In Embu, Black Cats Football Academy will face Mufuu JSS, while Ishiara Brights Academy will meet Pwani FC in the boys’ category at Numbure Grounds. In the girls’ category, Ishiara Bright Starlets will face AIC Ndune Queens, while Royal Queens Academy will take on Kavutiri Lionesses.In Marsabit, Red Tigers will meet Abdary FC, while Turbi FC will face DG Stingers FC at Marsabit Stadium.In Makueni, the boys’ category will feature Mbuthani Secondary School, Mukuyuni School and Kalawa Pride Juniors at Sultan Hamud Stadium, while AIC Sultan Queens will face Kiambani Queens in the girls’ category.In Tharaka Nithi, Gatunga Boys Jezentz will take on Young Barcelona FC, while Mpukoni Junior Football Academy will face Kajiunduthi High School. In the girls’ category, Iriani Starlets will meet Mugona Girls, while Yalla SC will take on Kiamuriuki Senior School. Matches will be played at Kajiunduthi and Kairuni stadiums.The Eastern Region finals will be held on Saturday, 2nd, and Sunday, 3rd October 2026, in Embu, bringing together the top teams from across the region as they battle for regional honours.
