THE family of the late Sekuru Tinos Jesmiel Rushwaya has expressed profound gratitude to President Mnangagwa, the First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, Vice Presidents, the Government, traditional leaders, the church and Zimbabweans from all walks of life for the support and condolences received following the passing of the family patriarch.
Sekuru Rushwaya, who was conferred with Provincial Hero status in recognition of his contribution to the country, was laid to rest with official honours.
In a statement issued on behalf of the family, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya thanked all those who stood with the family during its bereavement.
“On behalf of my family, my relatives and myself, I wish to convey our sincere gratitude and appreciation for the overwhelming messages of condolence, support and solidarity rendered to us following the passing of our beloved father, Mr Tinos Jesmiel Rushwaya,” he said.
Dr Rushwaya paid tribute to President Mnangagwa and the First Lady for their personal support while also acknowledging the assistance rendered by the Vice Presidents, Cabinet Ministers, senior Government officials, service chiefs, traditional leaders, church leaders, the public service and Zimbabweans across the country.
He said the support extended to the family during its time of mourning reflected the spirit of Ubuntu and national unity.
The family also expressed appreciation to the Government, friends and well-wishers who assisted with funeral arrangements, as well as those who travelled from different parts of the country to pay their last respects and those who sent messages of condolence.
Dr Rushwaya prayed for God’s guidance and blessings upon the country’s leadership and thanked all those who stood with the family during its loss.
The family said the solidarity and compassion shown throughout the mourning period will remain a lasting source of comfort.
