Veteran Yoruba actor, Yinka Quadri, has expressed appreciation to Nigerians, government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, colleagues and fans for their support following the illness and death of fellow actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Quadri conveyed the appreciation on behalf of himself and the entire Taiwo Hassan family in a message shared on his social media platforms.
He thanked Ogogo’s fans in Nigeria and abroad, as well as Muslim clerics, pastors, traditional rulers, colleagues, friends and well-wishers for their love, prayers, concern and support throughout the actor’s illness and after his death.
The veteran actor also expressed gratitude to the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for their support and for sending representatives to stand with the family during the difficult period.
Quadri extended the family’s appreciation to the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture, Lagos State Government, incoming Lagos State Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, the Chief of Staff to the President, as well as the Oyo and Ogun State governments.

He reserved special commendation for Senator Olamilekan Mustapha Yayi, the incoming Governor of Ogun State, for what he described as exceptional support and concern during Ogogo’s illness and following his death.
“A very special appreciation goes to Senator Olamilekan Mustapha Yayi, the incoming Governor of Ogun State, for his exceptional support, concern, and efforts during Ogogo’s illness and even after his passing,” Quadri said.
He prayed that God would reward Yayi abundantly and grant him long life to enjoy the fruits of his labour.
Quadri also used the occasion to call on members of the entertainment industry to embrace forgiveness, reconciliation and unity.
He urged colleagues to let go of grudges, misunderstandings and differences, stressing the importance of appreciating and supporting one another while they are still alive.
“Whatever grudges, misunderstandings, or differences we may have with one another, let us find the courage to let them go. Let us forgive, reconcile, love, and appreciate one another while we are still alive,” he said.
According to Quadri, Ogogo’s death was a reminder that life is short and that fame, wealth, success and status ultimately matter less than the impact individuals make and the lives they touch.
He said the late actor had fulfilled his purpose and left behind a lasting legacy through his contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
“Ogogo has gone to rest, having fulfilled the purpose for which God sent him. His legacy, his contributions to the entertainment industry, and the memories he created will continue to live on,” Quadri said.
The actor urged his colleagues to return to their work and continue their journey with love and unity, praying that God would bless their efforts.
Quadri appreciated everyone who stood with the Hassan family during Ogogo’s illness, death and burial.
