The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has begun her tenure as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology with a courtesy call on Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Dr Agyeman-Rawlings said the meeting formed part of her initial engagements in her new role and provided an opportunity to discuss areas where the two ministries could collaborate to advance Ghana’s environmental, scientific and technological development.
According to her, strong coordination between the two ministries will be important in translating the government’s ambitions for sustainable development, innovation and economic transformation into practical outcomes.
She expressed her commitment to working closely with the Ministry of Finance as she takes on the new portfolio.
The engagement comes as Dr Agyeman-Rawlings begins her tenure at the Environment, Science and Technology Ministry, where she is expected to oversee policies and initiatives relating to environmental protection, scientific research, technology and innovation.
She officially assumed office following a formal handover from the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, who had been serving as Acting Minister.
