A high-powered National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegation in the Ashanti Region on Saturday joined family members and sympathisers in Asante Mampong for the Islamic funeral prayers (Adua) of the late Mampong Constituency Organizer, Halidu Inusah.
The ceremony was led by the Chief Executive Officer of MADENAN Ltd, Dr Amofa Dankwah.
Also present were Ashanti Regional Chairman Nana Akwasi, Mampong Municipal Chief Executive Yakubu Issifu, Sekyere Central District Chief Executive Somuah, Mampong Constituency Chairman Imam Kamel, and other constituency executives.
The gathering was held in accordance with Islamic customs and traditions, with prayers offered for the peaceful repose of the late organiser’s soul.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the Adua, Dr Amofa Dankwah paid tribute to Halidu Inusah, describing him as a pillar of strength for the NDC in the municipality.
“We have lost a committed and loyal party man. Halidu Inusah served the NDC in Mampong with all his heart. His death is a big loss to the entire party. We came here to fulfil our Islamic obligations, support the family, and console them,” he said.
Ashanti Regional Chairman Nana Akwasi also expressed the party’s solidarity with the bereaved family.
“When one of us falls, we all feel it. Halidu worked hard for this party. The least we can do is to give him a befitting farewell and assure his family that they are not alone,” he noted.
As part of the visit, the delegation presented a cash donation to support the funeral rites and spent time interacting with grassroots party members and relatives of the deceased.
The ceremony ended with special Islamic prayers led by Constituency Chairman Imam Kamel, who prayed for Allah to grant the late Halidu Inusah eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
