. JFF President Michael Ricketts commented on strong diaspora presence in the area. “Fort Lauderdale and, by extension, South Florida is colloquially referred to as Kingston 21 due to the massive Jamaican community. I understand close to 200,000 Jamaicans live in South Florida, so that shows you the volume of our people in this area. It is also only a one-hour flight from the island to Fort Lauderdale, so it's very close. We are encouraging our fellow Jamaicans to purchase tickets as soon as possible so they can make the Stadium feel like a home game for us come December 13,” he said.
