Israel kills three-year-old child in latest Gaza airstrikes

Two Palestinians, one of them a three-year-old child, were killed and others injured on Sunday by an Israeli drone strike west of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses identified the two victims as three-year-old Tayyem Hamdan and Husam Nusair, who was from Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. The airstrike happened near a bakery.

Nusair is the second member of his family to be killed. The Israeli military claimed that he was a member of Hamas’s military wing.

Medical sources said that the bodies of two victims, one of them a child, along with several injured people, including a girl, were brought to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital following an Israeli drone strike targeting a group of civilians near Akila Street, west of Deir al-Balah.

In its daily statistical report, the Gaza Health Ministry said that hospitals in the Gaza Strip had received five bodies of those killed and 14 injured people over the past 24 hours.

On Saturday, Israel bombed the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, saying it was targeting a Hamas commander, while killing three people elsewhere in the Gaza Strip.

The Trump administration brokered a ceasefire which was supposed to have ended more than two years of genocidal war in Gaza in October 2025 but Israel has continued with near-daily deadly strikes.

The total number of people killed by Israel in Gaza since the ceasefire went into effect has now risen to 1,318, while the number of injured reached 4,375. In addition, the bodies of 815 Palestinians have been recovered since then.

The cumulative toll since the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip in 2023 is now 73,454 Palestinians killed and 174,486 injured.
