Mr Eazi Reveals Shatta Wale Has Never Charged Him to Perform at His Shows, Praises His Loyalty

Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Mr Eazi has praised Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for his loyalty and generosity, revealing that the musician has repeatedly shown up to support his events without demanding payment or even receiving a personal invitation.

Mr Eazi made the revelation while speaking about his relationship with Shatta Wale, describing the Ghanaian musician as one of the smartest and most genuine people he knows.

According to him, although he usually pays artistes who perform at his shows, Shatta Wale has consistently been an exception, choosing to offer his support voluntarily.

“Usually, when artistes come to perform at my shows, I pay them. But Shatta Wale has never charged me,” Mr Eazi said, explaining that the dancehall star would simply turn up to show support.

The Nigerian artiste recounted an occasion when he was performing at an event and noticed an unexpected surge in excitement from the audience. When he turned around to find out what was happening, he discovered that Shatta Wale had arrived.

Mr Eazi said the appearance surprised him because they had not discussed the event beforehand, and he had not contacted Shatta Wale to invite him.

He explained that the gesture reflected the Ghanaian musician’s willingness to support people he values without necessarily expecting financial rewards or public recognition.

Mr Eazi also dismissed perceptions that Shatta Wale’s outspoken and unpredictable public persona should define how people view him. Instead, he described the musician as intelligent, genuine and conscious of the people he has helped throughout his career.

The Nigerian singer further revealed that Shatta Wale’s support influenced his own decision to reciprocate the gesture when the Ghanaian artiste staged his stadium concert.

He said he stayed awake until about 4 a.m. watching Shatta Wale’s performance, despite having travel plans that day. As the concert continued into the early morning, he repeatedly postponed his flight so he could continue following the event.

The account highlights the personal relationship between the two musicians, whose connection extends beyond their professional activities in the Ghanaian and Nigerian music industries.

Mr Eazi’s remarks also draw attention to the importance of solidarity among African artistes, suggesting that relationships built on genuine support can be just as valuable as formal business arrangements.

His praise presents Shatta Wale’s actions as an example of how musicians can contribute to one another’s success through loyalty, friendship and support that goes beyond performance fees.
