Sabina Chege Hits Out at Gachagua for Working With Sifuna But Labeling Ndindi Nyoro a Mole

Nominated MP Sabina Chege has accused former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of applying double standards when dealing with opposition leaders.

In a statement she made on Thursday, Sabina Chege questioned why Gachagua was ready to work with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who joined the opposition after leaving ODM, while calling Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro a mole.

Sabina added that Gachagua was being a hypocrite by labelling Ndindi a government project while accommodating Sifuna in his camp.

“Politicians are all the same monkeys. Maybe in different forests, but they are the same monkeys. When Sifuna comes into Wamunyoro, he is welcomed. But when Ndindi Nyoro comes in, he is called a mole. It’s hypocrisy of the highest order,” Sabina said.

Sabina is a key critic of Gachagua and previously said she did not regret voting to impeach the former Deputy President and would do the same if given another chance.

Gachagua had instructed the people of Mt Kenya not to elect the former Murang’a Woman Representative to any position in the region.

Sabina’s remarks come just two days after Gachagua hosted Sifuna and a section of Linda Mwananchi leaders at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri. Details of the meeting are, however, yet to be made public.

On the other hand, Gachagua and his close allies, including Nyandarua Senator John Methu, Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thang’wa and Naivasha MP Jane Kihara, have accused Nyoro of being a project of President William Ruto within the opposition.

However, Nyoro has repeatedly denied the accusations, expressing his desire to work with the opposition. A section of the opposition, including People’s Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Karua, said on Wednesday that it was unfair for Gachagua to call others moles when he had also found others in the opposition but was warmly welcomed.

Gachagua is now facing criticism from both opposition and government-aligned leaders over his accusations that Nyoro is a ‘mole’.
