Martin Odegaard scored the winner as Arsenal overpowered Chelsea in their English Premeir League match at the Emirates stadium.
The EPL champions overpowered a determined Blues to submission despite going down to an early Chelsea goal.
Kai Havertz pulled Arsenal level in the first half before Odegaard’s heroics in the second period.
The win ensured Arsenal continued its London derby dominance over Chelsea, claiming a fifth consecutive win at the Emirates stadium.
Both teams came into the match with winning starts to the season and the visitors looked like they would continue the run under new head coach Xabi Alonso through Morgan Rogers’ low shot that crept in on two minutes.
Arsenal provided an immediate response and eventually restored parity on 25 minutes through Havertz’s curler from the edge of the box into the far corner.
Both sides pressed for the advantage but were inseparable at halftime.
A relentless Arsenal then took the lead five minutes after the restart when Christos Tzolis found Odegaard in the penalty area and the captain slotted home to send fans rocking.
Chelsea pushed for the equalizer but were foiled by the duo of a well drilled defence and excellent goalkeeping from David Raya who denied Estevao with a fine save.
Mikel Arteta’s side secured the win that continued his side’s winning start to the season and puts them joint top of the league with Manchester City, while Chelsea lose for the first time and are in fourth place with six points.
