2 arrested in connection with missing man found dead in Stockton

(FOX40.COM) — Two men have been arrested in connection with the death of a man who was reported missing in August, the Stockton Police Department said.

The police department said that in late August, it received a report of a missing 74-year-old man who was last seen on August 24. Police later found the man’s car near the 1500 block of S. San Joaquin Street.

On Friday, detectives served a search warrant at a home near where the car was found.

The body of the missing man was found in an unincorporated area of San Joaquin County, “through additional investigative efforts,” police said.

Luis Moran, 28, was arrested for homicide. Another man, Francisco Renteria-Sanchez, 28, was arrested for accessory.

According to the police, the investigation remains ongoing.
