Upper West FA completes 2026 Ordinary Congress ahead of new season

The Upper West Regional Football Association (UWRFA) has concluded its 2026 Ordinary Congress as preparations continue for the 2026/27 football season.

The statutory meeting was held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Upland Hotel in Wa, beginning at 9:00am. Executive council member Eugene Nobel Noel attended alongside delegates, club representatives and other stakeholders from Upper West football.

The Ordinary Congress is the Associations highest decision-making body. It allowed members to assess the previous season and consider the main issues facing football in the region before the start of the new campaign.

Delegates reviewed the Associations activities from the past season, its Activity Report, Financial Statements and Auditors Report. They also considered the budget for 2026/27, the competitions calendar and football development programmes.

Other matters relating to the administration and growth of the game in the region were also discussed during the meeting.

The Congress further provided a platform for the Executive Council, led by Upper West Regional FA Chairman Alhaji Yahaya Sadugu, to engage clubs and stakeholders on the progress made during the previous season.

Discussions also focused on the challenges affecting grassroots football in the region, with clubs and other stakeholders contributing to the review of the Associations work and future plans.

The completion of the Congress clears the way for the 2026/27 regional football season. The Association is expected to announce when its various competitions will begin.
