Mamponghene urges Dr Mike Amofa Dankwah to sustain humanitarian support

The Paramount Chief of Asante Mampong, Daasebre Osei Bonsu III, has urged Dr Mike Amofa Dankwah to sustain his humanitarian and social interventions in the Mampong traditional area.

The Mamponghene made the call when Dr Amofa Dankwah paid a courtesy call on him to congratulate him and wish him well following his enstoolment as the new Paramount Chief of Asante Mampong.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu III officially swore the sacred oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on January 19, 2026.

He is the occupant of the revered Silver Stool of Asante Mampong and serves as the second-in-command in the hierarchy of the Asante Kingdom.

He succeeded the late Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who passed away in April 2025 after a long reign.

During the courtesy call, the Mamponghene commended Dr Amofa Dankwah for his continued support to the people of the area and encouraged him to maintain his interventions, particularly those aimed at improving the welfare of residents.

As part of his community engagement, Dr Amofa Dankwah also donated table tennis equipment to Members of Parliament representing Mampong as part of an initiative to promote recreation, relaxation and healthy social interaction among them.

The gesture is intended to provide an opportunity for the legislators to unwind, stay active and maintain a positive atmosphere beyond their parliamentary duties.

Dr Mike Amofa Dankwah is a native of Asante Mampong, a medical doctor, public health specialist and PhD holder in management.
