Dagoseh Bids Farewell to Commerce Ministry

MONROVIA, Liberia, September 22, 2026 — Outgoing Commerce and Industry Minister Magdalene Ellen Dagoseh has expressed appreciation to government institutions, private-sector organizations, development partners and employees of the Ministry for their support and cooperation during her tenure.

In a letter of appreciation marking her departure, Dagoseh described her service as both a national responsibility and an opportunity to contribute to Liberia’s economic development and the well-being of its people.

She said sustainable economic growth requires strong coordination among government institutions, the private sector, development partners, financial institutions and other stakeholders, backed by a shared commitment to the national interest.

Dagoseh thanked employees of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, including deputy and assistant ministers, directors, commissioners, coordinators, technical officers, county personnel, administrative and support staff, consultants and interns.

She credited the Ministry’s accomplishments during her tenure to the collective efforts, professionalism and dedication of its workforce.

The outgoing minister commended employees for their work in supporting businesses, protecting consumers, implementing government policies and advancing the Ministry’s mandate.

Dagoseh also acknowledged several government institutions and business organizations for their collaboration, including the Environmental Protection Agency, National Port Authority, Liberia Business Association, Liberia Standards Authority, National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority and Liberia Chamber of Commerce.

Others included the Liberia Agriculture Commodity Regulatory Authority, Liberia Petroleum Refining Company, Liberia Business Registry, Liberia Intellectual Property Office, Internal Audit Agency, Public Procurement and Concessions Commission and Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

She further thanked development and financial partners, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, Central Bank of Liberia, Ecobank Liberia and Bloom Bank Africa Liberia, for their contributions to private-sector development, financial inclusion and institutional strengthening.

Reflecting on her tenure, Dagoseh described economic transformation as a collective responsibility requiring cooperation among government, businesses, entrepreneurs, regulators, development partners and citizens.

As she transitions from the Ministry, Dagoseh said her commitment to the country would remain unchanged.

“The office may change, but my commitment to Liberia remains,” she said.

She encouraged stakeholders to continue working toward an economy in which Liberian businesses and entrepreneurs can grow, consumers are protected, investors can participate, farmers and producers have greater access to markets and young people can find meaningful economic opportunities.

Dagoseh described serving as Minister of Commerce and Industry as one of the greatest honors of her life and thanked those who supported her during her time in office.

“May Liberia continue to rise,” she said.
