Bank Windhoek appoints Kamberipa as financial director
Bank Windhoek has appointed its Chief Financial Officer, Zenaune Kamberipa, as Financial Director, strengthening the bank’s board as it continues to pursue its long-term growth strategy.
The appointment took effect on 25 September.
Kamberipa joined Bank Windhoek in September 2020 as Chief Financial Officer and has played a key role in the bank’s financial management over the past six years.
Before joining Bank Windhoek, he worked as Group Financial Manager at the FirstRand Group. He also started his career with Deloitte, working first in South Africa before moving to Namibia.
He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stellenbosch Business School.
Bank Windhoek Board Chairperson Johan Swanepoel said the appointment strengthens the bank’s governance and leadership.
“Zenaune Kamberipa brings exceptional technical expertise, sound judgement and an invaluable understanding of both the banking sector and Bank Windhoek’s operation. On behalf of the Board and Executive Management, I congratulate him on this well-deserved appointment and thank him for his continued contribution to the Bank’s success,” Swanepoel said.
According to the bank, Kamberipa’s appointment reflects the confidence the board has in his leadership and experience.
The bank said his financial expertise, knowledge of the institution and understanding of the banking sector will strengthen decision-making at board level as Bank Windhoek continues to grow.
The appointment also forms part of the bank’s efforts to reinforce its governance structures and strategic direction in a changing financial services environment.
Bank Windhoek said Kamberipa’s experience in auditing, financial management and banking will support the board as it works to position the institution for sustained growth and long-term success.
His appointment follows several years in which he has overseen the bank’s financial operations as Chief Financial Officer and contributed to its financial performance and strategic planning.
