Bawumia urges NPP delegates to vote in peace and accept results

Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged delegates to vote peacefully and accept the outcome of the party’s national officer elections in good faith.
Addressing delegates at the party’s National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, October 3, he called for calm and unity as members prepare to elect new national officers.
“Let us vote in peace and accept the results in good faith,” he told delegates.
Delegates earlier approved all 14 constitutional amendment motions presented by the Constitution Amendment Committee. The amendments were taken as the first item on the agenda, before voting for the new national executives began.
This came despite a request by Acting National Chairman Joseph Danquah Smith to defer them to the next conference. He had said there was too little time, and that delegates might not have enough opportunity to study the proposals properly while also taking part in the executive elections.
