A job advertisement circulating on Facebook claiming that the South Sudan Red Cross (SSRC) is running a mass recruitment, is a scam.
According to the information on the flyer published on 31st July 2026 by AID Careers, South Sudan Red Cross (SSRC) is hiring South Sudanese for multiple humanitarian positions and that applicants can apply via a Google Document (archived here).
The flyer features the Red Cross logo, images of supposed aid workers in branded vests and available positions, urging interested job seekers to apply.

The criteria set by the page in the online job application portal for the aspiring applicants in the mass recruitment program include; must be a South Sudanese citizen with a valid national ID, must have completed studies in a relevant field of study within the last nine years, should be ready and willing to commit their time to work with the organization, must demonstrate good character, creativity, honesty, integrity, positive attitude and ability to learn and be available to start work at a short notice.
The AID Careers Facebook page has also run similar fraudulent job adverts on the same date for different countries including; Kenya, Zambia, and South Africa.
The positions listed in the employment Application Portal include; supervisors, administrators, cleaners, security guards, storekeepers, chefs, and first-aid facilitators.

Evidence:
However, after carefully analyzing the job advert, Hot In Juba concluded that the supposedly mass job recruitment by South Sudan Red Cross, is a phishing scam designed to harvest personal information and potentially defraud job seekers.
Firstly, the advert only provides vague requirements and qualifications, and the seemingly identical adverts on the page targeting job seekers in different countries are suspicious.
Moreover, on 31 July 2026, the South Sudan Red Cross publicly dismissed the alleged mass hiring and issued an official public notice posted on its verified Facebook page here, debunking the job advert as a scam.

According to South Sudan Red Cross clarification, their legitimate hiring practices never charge application fees, interview fees, or any form of payment at any stage of recruitment. The humanitarian organisation also stated that they post their legitimate and authentic job vacancies on their verified South Sudan Red Cross Facebook page, their website, the South Sudan NGO Forum website (sample posted here) and the Physical public notice Boards with all documents bearing the official stamps of both the SSRC and the Ministry of Labor.

Conclusion:
The mass recruitment circulating on Facebook claiming that the South Sudan Red Cross (SSRC) is running a mass recruitment, is a scam.
The advert was shared by a non-affiliated Facebook page identified as AID Careers to possibly acquire personal information and potentially defraud job seekers.
