Camera Operator Assaults Ranil Wickremesinghe’s Security Officer as Former President Leaves Court! Police Complaint Filed! VIDEO | Sri Lanka Latest News

A camera operator from a private media organisation has allegedly assaulted a security officer attached to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the former President was leaving the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court today (30), following the hearing of a case filed against him by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The incident is reported to have taken place near the gate of the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.

The security officer, who was assaulted while performing security duties for Ranil Wickremesinghe, lodged a complaint with the police regarding the incident and was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

The incident was clearly captured on camera by several other journalists present at the scene, showing the relevant camera operator striking the security officer on the head with his camera
