Namibia’s second polo showcase set for tomorrow
La Muela Polo Club will host Namibia’s second polo exhibition match tomorrow at La Muela Polo Estate, bringing together international players, live entertainment and hospitality as the country seeks to grow the sport’s local following.
Supported by Capricorn Private Wealth, the event follows Namibia’s inaugural polo showcase, held at La Muela Polo Estate in April, and aims to introduce more Namibians to the equestrian sport while strengthening the country’s sporting, lifestyle and tourism offering.
The exhibition will feature Team Maranatha and Team La Muela, both representing La Muela Polo Club. The line-up comprises two Namibian players and visiting players from Argentina, Angola, Germany, Poland and South Africa, including three professional polo players from Argentina.
The match will be played over four seven-minute chukkas, with live commentary explaining the action and rules to spectators.
Guests will be welcomed from 11h00, with remarks by La Muela Polo Club founder Till Jeske after 12h00. The match is scheduled to start at 12h30, followed by a prize-giving ceremony. The Embassy of Argentina in South Africa will provide the trophy for the winning team.
Capricorn Private Wealth’s support reflects its commitment to partnerships that create distinctive experiences, broaden participation in sport and showcase Namibia’s potential to host premium events. The initiative also seeks to create opportunities for local tourism, enterprise and community engagement.
Zest and Tide 6, led by Chef Heinrich, will provide food and beverages. The event will feature a dedicated VIP hospitality area with live cooking stations, alongside food and beverage options for general admission guests.
Jeske said the exhibition was designed to bring polo closer to Namibian audiences while introducing spectators to the club, its teams and facilities.
He added that La Muela Polo Club boasts a full-size 5.5-hectare grass field built to international standards, Argentine-style stables and 24 polo horses imported from Argentina.
General admission tickets are available through WebTickets Namibia from N$120.
